Obituary: Elmore Shaw, Jr

Elmore Shaw, Jr. 1924 ~ 2006 MURRAY - Elmore Shaw Jr., 82, passed away peacefully surrounded by family at his home on the morning of April 9, 2006, after a brave fight with cancer. He was born January 6, 1924 in Hope, Arkansas to Elmore and Stella Harris Shaw. He married Mollie Louise Daniels on July 16, 1953. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother. He was an avid fisherman and member of the Veterans of Foreign War. Elmore retired from the U.S. Government and Murray City Power Department. Survivors are his daughter, Brenda R. (Rodney) Carter; sister, Erma Bonner; brother Paulie Shaw. Grandchildren Kenneth and Courtney Chaney; Alicia (Billy) Cosby; Christoper (JaNeal) Shaw; Megan Shaw; two great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by wife, Mollie; son, Daniel; father; mother; brothers, Tony and Robert Shaw; and sister, Annell. The family would like to express appreciation to The Utah Cancer Center and to the nurses who cared for him from Lifepath Hospice and Home Option Senior Care. Special thanks to his dear neighbor and friend, Judy Jensen who gave him love, friendship and support through many years, especially during the difficult time of his illness. He loved his neighbors and friends. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 12, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at Mountain View Memorial Estates, 3115 E. 7800 S. (Bengal Blvd.) Friends may call Wednesday 10:00 to 10:45 prior to the funeral services. Interment, Mountain View Memorial Estates.
