I am a student at South Jordan Middle School, and I feel a need to respond to letters about our pie throwing.

First, the pies were not expensive. They were pie crust filled with whipped cream.

Second, most of the classes didn't attend the pie throwing. The gym and dance classes held at that period got to watch; others were in class.

Finally, we raised enough money to pay for 40 children to have surgery to repair palate and lip deformities. I say that deserves praise, not criticism, from people who don't know half the story.
