BASKETBALL: New Weber State basketball coach Randy Rahe announced Monday he was keeping assistant Andy Jensen on his staff.
Rahe also hired Eric Duft and Jeff Linder as his other assistants. Rahe, an assistant at Utah the past two seasons, was hired by Weber State last month.
Jensen spent the past five seasons with the Wildcats as an assistant to coach Joe Cravens. He also played two years for the Wildcats and was a member of the 1999 team that upset North Carolina in the opening round of the NCAA tournament.
Duft spent the past seven seasons as an assistant at Hutchinson (Kan.) Junior College.
Linder was an assistant for the past two years at Midland (Texas) Junior College.

SOFTBALL: Southern Utah's Tiffany Burt has been named the Mid-Continent Conference's Softball Player of the Week for the second consecutive week.
Burt, a senior shortstop from Brigham City, batted .462 with a home run, two triples and a double in the Thunderbirds' weekend series against Centenary. She carried a slugging mark of 1.077 and an on-base percentage of .562 after tallying 14 total bases and drawing three walks, two of them intentional.
