PLEASANT VIEW — A semitruck hauling construction material lost control on a steep road and slammed into the side of a house.

Police Chief Scott Jackson said the semi was coming down 900 West about 10 a.m. Monday when the driver got his gears caught.

"As he picked up speed his brakes didn't hold and he tried to negotiate a turn," he said. "He didn't make the turn and ran into the north side of a residence."
