Police were making preparations for possible flooding this week in the South Fork area in Ogden Valley. About two dozen homes are considered vulnerable to flooding from the Ogden River.

"We've taken some sandbags up there as a precaution," Weber County Sheriff's Capt. Klint Anderson said Tuesday. "These are some homes that are regularly threatened every year."

Weber County sheriff's deputies had placed sandbags near a couple of homes Tuesday. Residents who want sandbags can obtain them by contacting the sheriff's office at 801-778-6660.
