ANCHORAGE, Alaska — The Utah Grizzlies fell victim to undisciplined play, losing to the Alaska Aces 3-1 Tuesday night.

Former Grizzly Barrett Heisten scored two power-play goals for the Aces, sending the Grizzlies home down 2-0 in their ECHL playoff series.

Alaska held a 1-0 lead after the first 20 minutes, but Utah defenseman Brett Henley evened the score 3:46 into the second period, firing a point shot that found its way through Aces netminder Matt Underhill.

Alaska forward Heisten took a nice feed and blasted a shot past Alfie Michaud as the Aces regained the lead six minutes later on the power play.

Utah battled back in the third, generating several quality chances, but couldn't even the score. Ed Hill and Travis Rycroft both received minor penalties in the final three minutes, giving the Aces a two-man advantage.

Heisten scored his second goal of the game on the ensuing power play, giving the Aces a 3-1 lead.

The series now shifts to Utah for games 3, 4 and 5, starting Thursday. All games are set for 7 p.m.
