Helen Ruth Eskelson 65 and Holding Helen Eskelson, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend left the way she lived her life, with quiet dignity. Helen passed away due to complications of a stroke April 11, 2006, surrounded by family. Born June 27th to Joseph and Mary Nielsen in Salt Lake. Married Joe Eskelson July 6th, 1942 and later sealed together in the South Jordan Temple. Mother to: Richard (Beck), Diane (Bruce), Douglas (Dawn) and Darrell (Yvonne). Many grandchildren, great grandchildren with more to come. She leaves behind a legacy of the most beautiful quilts (over 2,000) and embroidered items which all will cherish for years to come. Many of her items, including children's dresses and quilts, were sold through the Mormon Handicraft. She inspired her children and grandchildren to create their own works of art; quilts, crocheting, Christmas ornaments, to name a few. Everybody who knows her understands her love of the 1949 Mercury Convertible and the 1972 Riviera (known as the green hornet). Never beaten in an auto race down the road. The green hornet remains a treasured family item. The family wants to thank all those at St. Joseph's Villa for the loving care she received (on a 24 hour basis) over the 16 months she resided with them. Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 15, 2006 at 12 noon at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 East 10600 South, Sandy, where friends may visit Friday from 6 to 8 pm and one hour prior to services Saturday. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.larkinmortuary.com In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to www.chelseascharities.com
