Obituary: Tempie Childs

Tempie Childs 1918 ~ 2006 PRICE - Tempie Brasher Childs, age 87, passed away April 9th, 2006, in Price. She was born May 25th, 1918, in Huntington to John William Brasher and Mary Elvira Gillespie Brasher. She married Grant R. Childs on Oct. 28th, 1939, in Huntington. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple on June 18th, 1966. Tempie enjoyed serving others as a nurse for many years. She also enjoyed quilting, crocheting, gardening and reading. After the death of her husband she successfully served three LDS missions. She is survived by her children, Richard (Dawn) Childs, Diana (Charles) Taylor and Hope (Brent) Huffman; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Also survived by sisters, Fay Roper of Huntington and Clara Jorgensen of Lehi. Preceded in death by parents; husband; sisters, Elfie Reed, Flora Rowley and Fawn Kizerian; brothers, Guy, Kenneth, Ruben, Reed, and Clarence. Funeral services will be Friday April 14th at 11 a.m. at the Huntington LDS stake center. Friends and family may call Thursday April 13th, from 6-8 p.m. at the Fausett Mortuary in Castle Dale and one hour prior to services at the chapel. Interment in Huntington City Cemetery.
