Burton White Robinson 1923 ~ 2006 Burton White Robinson, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, died of heart failure on April 10th, 2006, in his home in Orem, Utah, in the arms of his wife and loving family. Burton was born in Beaver, Utah, February 20, 1923, the second son of a widowed mother, Etelka White Robinson. He and his brother, Jesse, were raised in Beaver, Utah, and attended school there. He graduated as Valedictorian from Utah State University, and received his Ph.D in Clinical Psychology from Purdue University. He devoted his life to service as a counselor, professor and clinical psychologist at Brigham Young University for 35 years, finding great joy in helping others. He served in the Army during World War II, and served two full time missions to Australia; one as a young man and one with his wife of 56 years who he met on his first mission. He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Whitton Robinson and their eight children: Elizabeth Stoddard (Mark), Michael Robinson (Arlene), Jennifer Tippetts (David), Peter Robinson (Cris), Gregory Robinson (Joanna), Barbara Adams (Allen), Jeffrey Robinson (Wendy) and Cynthia Brown (Stephen). He has 44 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren as of this date. He is also survived by his brother, Jesse and many nieces and nephews. Burton discovered at a young age, the joy of serving others and has taught the gospel of love throughout his professional and personal life in both word and deed. His personal philosophy has touched the lives of countless individuals who have come in contact with him. He believed that we are here on earth to learn to love. He learned this himself and taught it to others. Truly, his legacy of love will enrich the lives of generations to come. It is fitting that he died of heart failure, having used up his heart in the service of others. Funeral services will be held Friday, April 14, 2006, at 2:00 p.m. in the Aspen 4th Ward Chapel, 1485 North 800 West, Orem, Utah. Family and friends may call Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. in the Walker Sanderson Funeral Home, 646 East 800 North, Orem and from 12:45-1:45 p.m. prior to the services at the church.
