Mary Ethel Wood 1910 ~ 2006 Mary Ethel Johnson Wood, age 95, passed from causes incident to age the morning of Tuesday, April 11, 2006, while at home. Born December 27, 1910 in what is now Payette, Idaho to Seymour Alfred Johnson and Ethel May Clifford Johnson. Lived in Brigham City, Utah much of her life where she ran a shoe shop on Main Street with her husband and also had many friendly associations from her years working at Maddox Ranch House. Later in life Mary relocated to the Salt Lake valley, where she resided in West Valley, Murray and Taylorsville, working several years at ZCMI and in home health care. Married Edward (Ted) Orlin Wood in 1931, solemnized in 1970. Their union was blessed by three children, Donna (White), Orlin and Ilene (Wall). Mary was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She loved serving the children of the Primary and their families. She also served in the Jordan River Temple, and as a Missionary in the records department and also overseeing Relief Society Visiting Teaching. Survived by daughter Ilene Wall, grandsons Michael White, Marc (Rochelle) White, granddaughter Cindy Wood, great-grandchildren Matti (Alma Smith), Ryan, Kyle and Erik White and many beloved nieces, nephews and great nieces and great nephews. Preceded in death by husband Ted, daughter Donna, son Orlin, beloved sisters (and their husbands) Eva (Jim Valentine) and Hazel (Mike Summers) and Maxine (Jones), sister-in-law Verna (Pat Smith) and many other beloved relatives and friends. Funeral, Friday April 14, 2006, 1 p.m. at Jenkins-Soffe, 4760 S. State, Murray, Utah. Visitation prior to funeral from 12 noon until 12:50 p.m. Burial in Willard City Cemetery, Route 89, Willard, Utah, at 3:30 p.m. Friday, April 14, 2006. In lieu of flowers, Mary suggested donations to Primary Children's Hospital or the Missionary fund of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
