LEHI — The Wasatch Front Scouting Expo — one of the most popular Scouting family events of the year — kicks off at 9 a.m. April 29 at Thanksgiving Point.
The Expo starts with a Parade of Flags and fly-over by Utah Valley State College Flight Science Formation. Activities end at 3 p.m.
"Audience participation is a given," spokesman John Gailey said. An Apache helicopter, Life Flight helicopter and local National Guard units will be a big draw.
Other activities include pioneering projects, fishing derbies, games and log sawing. The Tu-Cubin-Noonie Order of the Arrow Lodge will host an Indian village.
Pinewood Derby races begin at noon. High Adventure activities include a bike course, mountain man activities, scuba diving and climbing wall.
"The Expo is not just a family-friendly day of fun, but is a great learning opportunity for our youth," said Myrle Astrope, Wasatch Front Scouting Expo chairman for the Utah National Parks Council. Family admission is $10. Tickets are available from Scouting units or at the door.
