VIEW MOUNTAIN GOATS
The Rocky Mountain goats will be the featured species during a Division of Wildlife Resources' Watchable Wildlife program field trip on Saturday.
The field trip, which will allow people to watch and enjoy the sure-footed antics of the goats, will be held at the park and ride lot at the mouth of Little Cottonwood Canyon in Salt Lake County from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The field trip is free.
"Powerful scopes and binoculars will be available to enhance the views of this remarkable animal," said Bob Walters, Watchable Wildlife program coordinator for the DWR. "Rocky Mountain goat fact cards and posters also will be distributed to everyone in attendance."

SPRING AT WASATCH PARK
Wasatch Mountain State Park campgrounds will open April 15. Facilities include drinking water, restrooms, hot showers, barbecue grills and fire pits. Hookups are available depending on campground and sites. Little Deer Creek primitive campground will open at a later date depending on weather conditions.
Cross country ski trails are now closed for the season. The park is preparing for spring and summer recreation opportunities, including hiking, biking, camping and golf at all four courses: Silver and Gold at Soldier Hollow and Lake and Mountain. For more information call 435-654-1791.
HISTORY FIELD TRIP
The Utah Museum of Natural History is sponsoring a field trip to the Great Salt Lake to explore the birds and history of the area. "Birding at the Inland Sea Shorebird Reserve" will take place April 22 from 8:30 a.m. to noon. The cost is $35. Transportation is provided. The Inland Sea Shorebird Reserve is 3,600 acres of restored wetlands and bird habitat on the south shore of the Great Salt Lake. To register call 801-581-5567 or visit www.umnh.utah.edu.
HOCKEY CLINICS
Two hockey clinics are being offered at the Salt Lake County Ice Center.
Registration is being taken for PeeWee and Bantam classes on Mondays at 7:15 p.m. starting April 17 and for Mites and Squirts on Fridays at 5:45 p.m. starting April 21. Cost is $60.
Beginning adult hockey clinics will be on Wednesdays starting April 19 and are open to players 15 and older. Cost is $50.
All sessions will be held at the Ice Center, 5201 S. Murray Park Lane.

VIEW SAGE GROUSE
People will be able to watch strutting sage grouse on Saturday at Emma Park, which is about 13 miles north of Price.
Grouse leave the strutting ground within an hour or so after sun-up then spend the rest of the day in stands of sagebrush.
DWR biologists will be on hand with spotting scopes and binoculars. They will also help the public find the grouse and answer any questions. The event is free.
To get to Emma Park, take U.S. 6 to the Castle Gate Power Plant. Head north on Highway 191 for six miles to the Bamberger Monument, then turn left onto the Emma Park Road and follow it to the viewing area.
