Utah has some of the most scenic, most challenging, most extensive off-highway riding in the country.
Which, no doubt, played a part in the Off-Road Expo breaking off from its California home and stopping in Salt Lake City.
The event will take place at the South Towne Expo Center from April 21-23.
It will showcase buggies, 4x4s, motorcycles, ATVs and specialty vehicles such as mud boggers and rock crawlers.
Organizers also report there will be displays by manufacturers of all the latest technologies, accessories and toys associated with off-road adventures.
In addition to new vehicles and accessories, the event will also feature off-road demonstrations and seminars.
Among them will be the Team Extreme Trials Showcase, which will feature two-time world champion trials rider Tommi Ahvala.
There will also be a demonstration of the newest of sports — mountainboarding, which is a blend of surfing, snowboarding, skateboard and off-roading.
Tom Severin, president of the Badland Off-Road Adventures, a recognized expert in off-highway safety, will offer a number of seminars during the show.
There will be a rock-climbing wall for kids and a number of off-road video games.
Toyota will also make available some of its vehicles in the Ride and Drive area.
And the Rockcrawling and Off-Road Challenge series will display a collection of competitive rock crawlers.
The event will take place April 21 from 4 to 8 p.m., April 22, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and April 23 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
