PROVO — A Provo man will serve one year in jail for sexually abusing two 13-year-old girls.
Vincent Juan Trujillo, 18, had pleaded guilty to three second-degree felony charges of sexual abuse of a child and one third-degree felony charge of dealing in harmful material to a minor.
On Wednesday, 4th District Judge Lynn Davis rejected the sentencing recommendation for 270 days in jail and imposed a full year for each charge — to be served concurrently.
Trujillo was arrested in December after one of the girls reported to police that she and Trujillo had engaged in sex acts. Then, she told police, the other girl and Trujillo engaged in sex acts, according to the police report filed in 4th District Court. The girl also told police of another young victim, who had also had sexual relations with Trujillo.
Trujillo later confessed to the allegations during police interviews, according to the report.
