SIDELINED

Houston center Yao Ming will have surgery this weekend on his broken left foot and the injury could take 4-6 months to heal. The 7-foot-6 Yao was hurt in the first quarter of an 85-83 loss to Utah on Monday.

SPEAKING

"I told the team that it all has to start with me, and it's been about a month since we had a fire in the belly. I have been a little lackadaisical and not firing from the sidelines or at practice. In the second half, we came out with the fire necessary to compete in the playoffs. That's the first time we've seen that in a long time. We had an unbelievable second half." — Suns coach Mike D'Antoni after they came back from a 17-point halftime deficit for a 123-110 victory at Sacramento on Tuesday night.
