Harold J Green 1929 ~ 2006 Harold J Green, 76, of Pleasant Grove passed away Wednesday, April 12, 2006 at UVRMC after complications from a recent surgery. He was born June 3, 1929 in Pleasant Grove to Owen Victor and Leah Bunnell Green. He married Melvina Ellett Durfey on September 2, 1948 in Elko, NV. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Harold grew up in Pleasant Grove with his mother and step-father, Earl Millar. He attended Pleasant Grove High School and served in the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Harold and Melvina made their first home in Provo and later moved to Covina, California where he worked in the construction industry as a Heavy Equipment Operator for many years. They later returned to Pleasant Grove to enjoy their family and retirement. Harold enjoyed camping, hunting, and fishing with his family. His grandchildren will remember grandpa for his vegetable garden, special one-liners, and funny stories. Harold was an active member of the LDS Church and held many positions during his life, but considered his greatest calling to be that of husband, father, grandfather, and good friend to all who knew him. He is survived by his wife Melvina; five children: Diane (Russell) Conroy, San Dimas, CA; Judy (Tom) Grieve, Mapleton; Doug (Vivian) Green, Spanish Fork; Rileen (Jason) Hartman, Orem; Kaylene (Bruce) Manwaring, Rancho Cucamonga, CA; 16 grandchildren; five great-grand children and sister, Elizabeth Smith, American Fork. Preceded in death by two brothers, Max and Clyde Green and sister, Elma. Funeral services will be held Monday, April 17, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. in the Timpanogos Sixth Ward Chapel, 425 East 500 North, Pleasant Grove. Friends may call Sunday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Olpin Family Mortuary, 494 South 300 East, Pleasant Grove and at the church on Monday one hour prior to services.
