Norma LaPointe 1918 ~ 2006 Norma Louise Richards LaPointe is free to fly. She got her wings at age 87, on April 11, 2006. Norm was born August 3, 1918, in Union, Utah (the 8th of 14 children) to James Earl and Myrtle Forbush Richards. She graduated with Jordan High School's class of '36. On July 22, 1939, she married Delbert Edmond LaPointe. They shared almost 65 loving years together until Delbert's death in May 2004. Norm did exquisite crewel embroidery and quilting. She especially loved her garden. Norm had a yard that was immaculate and full of all kinds of flowers. In the evening you would find her on the patio enjoying the fruits of her labor while watching the quail. But most of all she loved being a grandma! Norma will be missed by her sons: Stan LaPointe (Becky Hayes) and Russell (Barbara) LaPointe; grandchildren Glenn Russell (America) LaPointe and Leslie Adrienne (Casey) Speer; great granddaughters Elowyn and Adrienne LaPointe. She is also survived by brothers Gene and Don Richards, sisters Doris Beckstead and Mildred Brereton. There truly are angels among us. Norma and Delbert were both cared for by the angels at Garden Terrace. There is no way we can thank them enough for the loving care given our parents. Graveside services will be held at the Salt Lake City Cemetery, 4th Avenue & N Street, Saturday April 15, 2006, 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers please send a donation to Primary Children's Medical Center or plant some flowers for Norm.
