Barbara Ann Garner Bertoch 6/27/1933 ~ 4/11/2006 Barbara was born to goodly parents in Rexburg, Idaho on June 27, 1933. She is the sixth child of George A. and Myrtle Garner. Barbara had a very happy childhood with many fond memories of her family and friends in Rexburg. She graduated from Madison High School as valedictorian in 1951. She attended Ricks College for two years. She married Jack Winzler Bertoch on January 11, 1957 in the Idaho Falls Temple. Jack and Barbara had seven children David, Tim, Scott, LeeAnn, Lisa, Leslie, Jason and a stepson, John. Jack worked for Mountain Bell Telephone Company and his work took them to several different locations including Westfield, New Jersey; Boise, Idaho; Salt Lake City, Utah; and Provo, Utah. In 1999 the couple retired to Cedar City, Utah. Barbara's children and her grandchildren were her life. She was the most wonderful example of service, patience and kindness. She will be missed so very dearly. Barbara served as a leader in the LDS Church Relief Society, Primary and Young Women's organizations. She had a strong testimony as shown by her example. She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Jack and their children, David (Stacey), Houston, TX; Tim (Jalene), Highlands Ranch, CO; Scott (Pam), Dallas, TX; LeeAnn (Dale) Asay, Orem, UT; Lisa (Chris) Rasmussen, Nampa, ID; Leslie (David) Doxey, Las Vegas, NV; Jason, Boise, ID; and a daughter-in-law, Marilyn, Salt Lake City, UT. She is also survived by her brothers and sister, Darrell (Claudean) Garner, Salt Lake City, UT; Ted (Edna) Garner, Rexburg, ID; Brent (Carole) Garner, Rexburg, ID; and Dorothy Winter, South Jordan, UT. She was preceded in death by her brothers-in-law, Michael Bertoch, Harvey Johnson and Richard Winter and her stepson, John Bertoch; as well as her parents and father and mother-in-law. We are at peace knowing she is with them again. Our family would like to thank the many caregivers in the medical profession for their loving care of our wife and mother. We love you mother and are so thankful for your example of endurance and faith. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, April 15, 2006 at 12:00 noon at the Mesa Hills Ward Chapel, (1925 W. 320 S). Visitations will be on Friday, April 14, 2006 from 6-8 p.m. at Southern Utah Mortuary, (190 North 300 West) and also on Saturday, April 15, 2006 from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the Church.
