Two Utah health-insurance companies have teamed up to make sure low-income children have access to much-needed dental care.

Intermountain Health Care announced Friday that it has donated $50,000 to Regence BlueCross Blue

Shield's Caring Foundation, which last year provided dental care to 2,100 Utah children. The recent donation follows a $25,000 December grant from the IHC Foundation. Combined, the two donations will allow 180 low-income children to receive appropriate dental care.

The Caring Foundation began in 1992 as a health-insurance plan for uninsured Utah children. It now operates exclusively to ensure that youths in Utah and Idaho receive dental care.
