Utah Valley State College inducted former Wolverine baseball star Mitch Jones and former track star Debra Vierkant into its athletic hall of fame on Wednesday.

Jones (1997-98) finished his career as the most prolific home run hitter in UVSC history, hitting 41 in his two years as a Wolverine. Jones went on to play two years at Arizona State, where he was a consensus first-team All-American. He was drafted in the seventh round by the New York Yankees. He is currently in his sixth season in the Yankees' organization.

Vierkant was a seven-time NJCAA All-American in cross country and track. In 2000, she earned the Betty Jo Graber Award, which goes to the top student-athlete in the NJCAA. Vierkant was the national champion in the 3,000 meters in 2000, was second in the nation in the 5,000 meters and third in the 1,500 meters.
