S.L. SUMMIT WINS: The Salt Lake Summit defeated the Las Vegas Rage 71-40 in their second pool game in the Las Vegas Easter Classic. The Summit, 2-0 in pool play, was played their third game late Friday. The Utah's 8th grade AAU state champions are coached by George and Brandon Sluga.

USC LISTS STARTER:John David Booty was listed Friday as Southern California's No. 1 quarterback, despite missing nearly all of spring practice because of a bulging disc in his back that required surgery. USC coach Pete Carroll said Booty would enter training camp in August ahead of redshirt freshman Mark Sanchez, who was impressive while getting most of the work at quarterback during the past three weeks. Whoever wins the job will be succeeding a pair of Heisman Trophy winners — Carson Palmer won the award as college football's outstanding player in 2002, and Matt Leinart won it in 2004.
FAVRE BONUS DELAYED: The due date for Brett Favre's $3 million roster bonus — originally scheduled last month — has been moved to July 27, giving the three-time MVP more time to make a decision on retirement. Favre's agent Bus Cook told ESPN.com Friday that the due date was pushed back, without giving a date.

ROUSH SHAKEUP: Carl Edwards sees Jack Roush's decision to shift crew chief Bob Osborne to Jamie McMurray's car as a move to spark McMurray's season, not his own. On Thursday, Roush Racing announced that Osborne would assume crew chief duties for McMurray's Nextel Cup team, while Edwards' team will be directed by Roush Racing's lead engineer, Wally Brown. Edwards said Friday that he was told by Roush that if the switch did not work Osborne would be back.
DRIVER TICKETED: NASCAR driver Kyle Busch was ticketed for reckless driving in a Richmond suburb Wednesday night. The misdemeanor charge carries up to a year in jail, a $2,500 fine and a driver's license suspension, said Sgt. Don Lambert, with Henrico County police. Busch was ordered to appear in court on May 23.

ATLANTA ALL-STAR SITE? The NHL was expected to announce Saturday that it has awarded the 2008 All-Star game to Atlanta. Atlanta Thrashers spokesman Tom Hughes said Friday a news conference has been scheduled for today before the Thrashers' final home game against Boston.
FORSBERG READY TO GO: The Philadelphia Flyers should have their best player back for their most important game. Peter Forsberg, who has missed the last four games with a groin injury, expects to play Saturday when the Flyers host the New York Rangers in a matchup that could determine first place in the jumbled Atlantic Division.

TIGER APOLOGIZES:Tiger Woods' agent issued an apology Friday for the golf star calling himself a "spaz" after the Masters last week. "Tiger meant nothing derogatory to any person or persons and apologizes for any offense caused," IMG agent Mark Steinberg said on Woods' official Web site. "Spaz" is considered by some people a derogatory way of referring to someone with physical coordination problems.

FAMILY CIRCLE CUP: Justine Henin-Hardenne kept her perfect record in the Family Circle Cup, beating seventh-seeded Dinara Safina 6-4, 6-1 Friday to advance to the semifinals. The top-seeded Henin-Hardenne won her 14th straight match here and meets Patty Schnyder, a 6-0, 6-3 winner over Nathalie Dechy, in Saturday's semifinals. Also, Nadia Petrova of Russia cruised to a 6-2, 6-0 victory over Catalina Castano and will face doubles partner Anna-Lena Groenefeld of Germany.
