BYU

TENNIS: The BYU women's tennis team (17-6, 5-2) dominated for the second straight day, beating Colorado State 7-0 on Friday. BYU plays Air Force today in Colorado Springs in its conference and season finale. Meanwhile, the BYU men took a 5-2 victory over UNLV. The win improves BYU to 11-15 overall and 4-1 in conference play. BYU meets San Diego State today.

Utah

SOFTBALL: Staci Hemingway's homer in the seventh inning of the first game and Jackie Wong's RBI single in the seventh of the nightcap lifted the University of Utah softball team (25-12, 4-2 MWC) to a pair of conference wins over Colorado State at Ram Field on Friday. Hemingway scored the game-winning run in both games as Utah ran its winning streak to four games. The Utes banged out 20 hits on the day, 11 in game one and nine in game two.

Utah Valley

SOFTBALL: The Utah Valley State softball team travels to Caldwell, Idaho, to play Eastern Oregon today and Albertson College on Sunday. Both match-ups are doubleheaders. The Wolverines are 10-26 and coming off a loss to Utah last Tuesday.

Weber State

TENNIS: The Weber State women's tennis team rallied with four singles wins to defeat Montana State 4-3 at Edman Courts on Friday. After Montana State grabbed the doubles point, the Wildcats stormed back as Elana Smit, Karla Pretorius, Vera Venditto and Ashley Schapper each won at singles to give WSU the win. The Wildcats are now 10-9 on the season and will face Northern Arizona today.

Southern Utah

BASEBALL: Southern Utah picked up a win Friday against Centenary at Thunderbird Park. SUU survived a late Gent rally to claim the opening game, 13-7, then rallied from an early 4-0 deficit and waited through a 38-minute rain delay. But Mother Nature eventually prevailed, leaving the teams tied at 5-5 in the home half of the fifth inning. The two teams will resume game two today at noon, followed by the regularly scheduled doubleheader.

TENNIS: IUPUI took a 6-1 win over Southern Utah in women's tennis Friday. The Jaguars won the doubles point and all but one singles point in ending SUU's three-match winning streak. SUU is now 1-1 in Mid-Continent Conference play.

SOFTBALL: Southern Utah swept a doubleheader from Western Illinois on Friday, taking a 6-3 win in a 12-inning marathon in the opener at Macomb, Ill., then coming back in the nightcap with a 7-4 victory. SUU improved to 16-27 overall and 8-2 in the Mid-Continent Conference.

Westminster

GOLF: Westminster College's men's golf team finished third in the eight-team Warrior Invitational at the Lewiston Country Club in Lewiston, Idaho. Sophomore Tyler Wiscomb of Salt Lake City led the Griffins, scoring a personal best 75-78-75. West Jordan native Adam Epson shot a 73 on the first day. The Griffins host the Westminster Invitational at Wingpointe Golf Course on Monday and Tuesday.
