I thought the public would like to know of the service provided to our community by former Jazz basketball player Thurl Bailey.
I was privileged to listen to Thurl speak at an inspirational program for LDS Church building hosts. He gave an inspiring address and sang one of his own songs. He patiently stood in line while many older LDS missionaries visited with him. He was gracious and willingly posed for pictures and signed autographs.
In an era of the "spoiled" athletes, it was a pleasure to see a sincere gesture of community outreach.
