This spring, the Utah Department of Transportation will begin work on hundreds of road construction projects across the state. Some of the largest projects are listed below:
NORTHERN UTAH
Davis, Weber, Box Elder, Morgan, Cache and Rich counties
I-15 NOW (New Ogden Weber) expansion, reconstruction and widening
April-fall 2008, $233 million
Where: 31st Street in Ogden to 2700 North in Farr West
Impact: Lanes reduced to two in each direction during daytime hours. At night and weekends, lanes reduced to one. Some full freeway closures anticipated. Interchange closures and cross-street closures.
U-126, pavement rehabilitation
April-August 2006, $5.8 million
Where: Midland Drive in Roy to 300 North in Clearfield
Impact: Lanes reduced to one in each direction by mid-April.
Brigham City Main Street, reconstruction
April-October 2006, $8 million
Where: 700 South to 900 North
Impact: Full street closures, three blocks at a time.
U.S. 89, Logan Canyon, pavement reconstruction, new passing lanes, bridge replacements
Finishes fall 2006, $23 million
Where: Canyon summit to Garden City. Three bridge replacements east of Logan.
Impact: One-way traffic over two bridges and in portions of canyon.

Impact: One lane open in each direction.
I-15, concrete repairs

Where: Farmington to Layton
Impact: Periodic lane closures, except during peak traffic hours.
Redwood Road, bridge deck replacement
April-July 2006, $1 million
Where: Bridge over I-215 in North Salt Lake
Impact: One-way traffic over bridge.
I-15, bridge deck rehabilitation
August-September 2006, $800,000
Where: 200 South in Clearfield, 200 North in Kaysville
Impact: Traffic restricted to two lanes over bridges, three weeks per bridge.
WASATCH FRONT
Salt Lake, Summit, Tooele counties.
State Street, reconstruct and repave

Where: 9000 South to 10600 South
Impact: Lane closures and restrictions
Redwood Road, widening and reconstruction

Redwood Road, bridge rehabilitation

Where: 100 South, 200 South, 300 South bridges over I-80
Impact: Lane reductions on Redwood Road. Possible weekend closures of I-80 onramps at Redwood Road.
Redwood Road, reconstruction, utility work
March-fall 2007, $10.8 million
Where: 2350 South to 3500 South
Impact: Down to one lane in each direction. Center turn lane open. Work will stop during winter months.
I-15, pavement work
Spring 2006, $3.1 million
Where: Bluffdale to 12300 S outh
Impact: Nightime closures on I-15, short-term ramp closures.
700 East, reconstruction, widening
March-October 2006, $13.8 million
Where: 400 South to Carnation Drive (about 10000 South)
Impact: Lane closures and restrictions.
CENTRAL UTAH
Juab, Utah, Wastach, Duchesne, Uintah and Daggett counties
U.S. 189, Provo Canyon, widening
Finished late 2008, $55 million
Where: U-92 to half-mile east of Deer Creek Dam
Impact: Night lane closures, Sunday through Thursday. Estimated 30-minute delays during day.

I-15, Spanish Fork, resurfacing and interchange repair
April-July/August 2006, $4.75 million
Where: Spanish Fork Main Street to 1400 North Springville interchange. Interchange work at U.S. 6 in Spanish Fork.
Impact: Lanes reduced to one in each direction at night. Occasional interchange ramp closures.
I-15, Nephi, concrete repair
April-end of 2006, $13.5 million
Where: North Nephi interchange (exit 228) to south Nephi interchange (exit (222)
Impact: Traffic shifted to one side of freeway. Lanes reduced to one per direction. Some interchange ramp closures.
I-15, Provo Center Street, bridge repair
April-June 2006, $3.12 million
Where: Provo Center Street, I-15 bridges
Impact: Closure of offramps to eastbound Provo Center Street (possibly for one month). Two-week closure of Center Street bridge over railroad tracks.
U.S. 191, Flaming Gorge, bridge repair
April-mid-summer, $3.56 million
Where: Bridge over Flaming Gorge Reservoir, highway bridge leading to Flaming Gorge Dam.
Impact: Lanes reduced to one, each direction. Oversize truck traffic detoured.
I-15, resurfacing
July-September 2006, $3.67 million
Where: 800 North in Orem to 500 East in American Fork
Impact: Lanes reduced to one between midnight and 5 a.m.
I-15, carpool lanes
Finished June 2006, $43 million
Where: Alpine interchange to University Parkway
Impact: Crews on road shoulder
U.S. 40, safety improvements
April-mid-June 2006, $2.5 million
Where: Ballard to Jensen
Impact: Bridge over Uintah River restricted to one lane. Lane restrictions between Ballard and Jensen.
SOUTHERN UTAH
Millard, Beaver, Iron, Washington, Carbon, Emery, Grand, San Juan, Sanpete, Sevier, Wayne, Piute, Garfield and Kane counties

Where: Summit to Paragonah
