Betty Jean Alleman 1929 ~ 2006 Betty Jean Alleman, age 76, passed away on April 11, 2006 in West Valley City, Utah. Born, July 12, 1929 in Provo, Utah, to Frederick Benjamin and Elizabeth Gordon Alleman. She was raised and educated in Springville graduating from Springville High School in 1947. She also attended BYU and Utah State University. Employed as a secretary at Continental Bank Mortgage Loan Dept. for many years. She retired from Kennecott in 1985 where she worked as a secretary. She also worked for Salt Lake County until 1993. Betty loved life and lived it to the fullest. Enjoyed hand work especially needlepoint and cross stitch. She was an active member of the LDS Church, serving in many positions during her life. She served as Kolob Stake Sunday School Secretary, Secretary to the Bishop of the Salt Lake 22nd Ward, a Relief Society Visiting Teacher and Family History Consultant. She was an avid Genealogist and authored two books. Survived by sisters, Collene Alleman, Oroville, California; Carol Ann Alleman, Taylorsville, Utah and Margaret A. (Gravel) Kirkland, Glen St. Mary, Florida; niece, Margaret Ellen Dickson; nephews, Jared O. Kirkland and Jonathan S. Kirkland; two great nieces and three great nephews. Preceded in death by brother, Frederick Richard Alleman The family extends its sincere and heart felt gratitude to the nursing staff at Rocky Mountain Care Center (West Valley City) and Rocky Mountain Hospice. A viewing will be held on Monday, April 17, 2006, 6-7:45 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road. At Betty Jean's request there will be no funeral. Interment 11:00 a.m. at Evergreen Cemetery in Springville, Utah.
