Welby Dale Finlinson Roy, Utah Welby Dale Finlinson, 80, passed away Thursday, April 13, 2006, in Ogden, Utah. He was born July 18, 1925 in Leamington, Utah to Welby and Anna Myrl Beckstrand Finlinson. On September 11, 1951, Dale married Carrol Maxine Wheeler in Salt Lake City. Their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on June 5, 1952. Carrol died April 6, 1988. He served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II. He worked for the Union Pacific Railroad and retired from Hill Air Force Base. Dale was a High Priest and an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where he served a fulltime mission in Sacramento, California. He also served in many callings throughout his life. He loved hunting, being the mountains and the outdoors. He enjoyed working with his hands and farmed for most of his life. Dale is survived by his children, LuAnn (Karl) Kingsford, Roy; Brent (Thirza) Finlinson, Roy; Max Finlinson, Roy; Dena (Alan) Rhodes, Layton; Jaylyn (MaryJo) Finlinson, Ogden; 16 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren, with two on the way; a brother, Arlyn (Terry) Finlinson, Delta; and a sister, Verdene (Neil) Rawlinson, Delta. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, a son, Pat, and a sister, Cherill. Funeral services will be held Monday, April 17th at 10:00 a.m. at the West Lake LDS Chapel, 2915 West 4425 South. Friends and family may call Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist's Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South and Monday from 8:45 to 9:45 a.m. at the church. Also, a viewing will be held at 3 p.m. at the Meadow LDS Chapel prior to the 4 p.m. graveside service at Meadow City Cemetery. Email condolences to the family at lrm@lindquistmortuary.com /stop
