Ralph Todd Carlile 1924 ~ 2006 Heber City- Ralph Todd Carlile, age 81, passed away peacefully on Thurs., April 13, 2006, surrounded by his loving wife and family. Ralph was born September 20, 1924, in Heber City, Utah, to Frederick G. and Sarah Todd Carlile. He married his sweetheart, ReNee Thacker, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on May 9, 1950. Ralph was a man of great love, kindness and integrity. He had many interests including: family, farming, gardening, family history, name extraction, journal keeping, scripture study, word search puzzles and sports. Anyone who met Ralph knew their lives were blessed because of their association with him. Ralph was a 1942 graduate of Wasatch High School where he served as student body president. He was a World War II veteran serving in the U.S. Army in the South Pacific and Japan. He completed two LDS Missions. The first to the Western States Mission and the second with his lovely wife, ReNee, to Martha's Vineyard, MA. Ralph held many positions in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints including: home teacher, counselor in a stake presidency, and bishop. For the past 26 years he has served as the Heber Utah Stake Patriarch. Ralph earned degrees from Brigham Young University and from the Pacific Coast School of Banking. He worked for First Security Bank for 30 years. He was active in the community. Ralph is survived by his wife of 56 years, ReNee; their children: Todd (Arlene) of Farmington, Neil (Deanne) of Orem; Ron (Kathy), Marjorie Carlile of Heber City; and Colleen (Mike) MaWhinney of Midway. They are the grandparents of 16 extraordinary grandchildren: Greg, Emily and Elder Matt Carlile; Scott, Michelle, Katie and Josh Carlile; Steven, Dan (Alison), Robbie and Kimberlee Carlile; Brian, David, Nancy, Rebecca and Kristine MaWhinney; and a precious great-grandson, Mark Carlile. Also surviving are two brothers: Glen (Janice) Carlile, Tom (Elaine) Carlile; two sisters: Bernice Haueter and Carol (Jared) Weller; and a large extended family, and many friends who are considered to be part of the family. He is preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Don Carlile A visitation will be held on Monday, April 17, 2006, from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. in the Heber LDS Stake Center, 150 North 200 West, Heber City, and on Tuesday from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. prior to the services also in the LDS Stake Center. Funeral services will begin Tuesday, 11:00 a.m. in the LDS Stake Center, with interment following in the Heber City Cemetery with military honors provided by the American Legion Lockhart Post 23.
