Harvey Badger 1911 ~ 2006 Harvey Badger passed away peacefully from this earth on Good Friday, April 14 at the home of his son, Farrell in Mapleton, Utah at the age of 95. He was born in Park Valley, Utah February 23, 1911, the son of George Ephriam and Eva Jane Larsen Badger, the fifth child in a family of nine children. He attended school in Park Valley and Heyburn, worked for Lockheed Aircraft Company, served his country honorably in the U.S. Army Air Corps spending time in Italy during World War II. He worked for Sego Milk Company and the Bureau of Reclamation. On June 18, 1947, he married Florence Marvella Goodliffe and their marriage was solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple March 18, 1948. They were blessed with two sons and two daughters, 31 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchild-ren, with three more on the way. Florence died March 17, 1981. Harvey married another wonderful companion, Leola Pace Bryant November 17, 1988. She passed away March 29, 2004. He was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served faithfully wherever he was called. Harvey was highly regarded as a master gardener. He offered advice and help to many inexperienced gardeners and freely shared his wonderful produce with all. His family was his greatest joy along with doing temple work, visiting with his friends and family, and taking care of his yard and gardens. He is survived by his four children, Norman (Barbara) Badger of South Jordan, Utah; Carolyn (David) Wallingford of Manti, Utah; Farrell (Catherine) Badger of Mapleton, Utah; and Karla (Alan) Bond of Euless, Texas; three brothers, George (Winnie) Badger of Irvine, California; Glen (Arlene) and Marvin Badger of Bountiful, Utah. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 18, 11:00 a.m. at the Mapleton 6th Ward Meetinghouse at 1600 North Main, Mapleton, Utah. Viewing will be at 10:00 a.m. Interment and graveside memorial will be at the Riverside Cemetery, Heyburn, Idaho, Wednesday, April 19 at 1:00 p.m. The family would like to thank "Hearts for Hospice" personnel for their exceptional and compassionate service.
