Keith J. Rollins 1912 ~ 2006 Keith J. Rollins, 93, passed away April 7, 2006 in Provo. Born June 12, 1912 in Beaver, Utah, son of James H. Rollins and Marie Hutchings. Married Sarah Esther Barton, April 20, 1939 in Greenville, Utah; later solemnized in the St. George Temple. He graduated from Milford High School in 1930 and was class valedictorian. He attended B.A.C., now known as Southern Utah University, where he majored in agriculture. While attending college he was a member of the Utah National Guard. After college he became a farmer on the Milford flat where he was chosen "Young Farmer of the Year" three years in a row. He was well known for his dancing abilities and won many dance contests. He was especially good when it came to waltzes. He was a member of the Utah Cattlemen's Assn. and the Minersville Water Users Assn. He also served on the Beaver County School Board for several years. He spent many years as a farmer and rancher in the Milford area before moving to Salem, Utah where he was a Dairy farmer for a number of years. He moved to Provo in 1967 and enrolled at "Trade Tech" where he graduated as a welder. He worked at Provo D.I. until his mid 80's. He and a friend climbed Mt. Timpanogos when they were in their 80's. He enjoyed BYU football and basketball and would talk about it until he almost drove you nuts. He was well liked by the neighborhood kids. Many of the teenagers would ask him to play basketball with them when he was well into his 70's. He would still give them a go for their money. All the younger kids enjoyed his doing dances for them. His grandkids and great-grandkids always asked him to do a dance for them. They also liked to hear him yodel or play the harmonica. He was a great storyteller and related many stories of when he was growing up. Sometimes we would laugh so hard we would end up crying; he could be very funny. He was an active member of the L.D.S. church, holding the office of High Priest and serving in various church callings including Home Teaching into his 90's. He was always busy doing something and had a positive outlook on life. During his life he enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, family gatherings, yard work, and gardening.
