Lois Manita Clayton Fowler 1916 ~ 2006 Lois Manita Clayton Fowler, 90, of Springville, Utah passed away Friday, April 14, 2006. She was born February 5, 1916 in Curlew Valley, Idaho to Horace Elijah and Francis Effidella Clayton. She was raised in Ogden, Utah where she was Valedictorian at her high school graduation. She married R. Walter Fowler on May 1, 1939 in the Salt Lake Temple. During their married life they lived in Redding, CA, Estes Park, CO, Schenectady, NY, Denver, CO and Springville, UT. Manita loved being a mother and homemaker which included attentive care of each of her children's growth and development and supportive skills in gardening, sewing, cooking, reading, and playing and enjoying fine music. She was also active in Daughters of the Utah Pioneers and literary clubs. She is survived by her husband; and five of her six children, Ann (Ron) Van Woerkom of Alpine, UT; John (Marie) Fowler of Sandy, UT; Alice (Ray) Oliver of Milford, CT; Audrey (Jeffrey) Talley of Spanish Fork, UT; Richard (Tina) Fowler of Baton Rouge, LA; 24 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren; and her brother, Vaughn (Edith) Clayton. She was preceded in death by her 10-year-old son, Roger. Funeral services will be held at the Hobble Creek 7th Ward Chapel, 1965 East Canyon Road, Springville Tuesday, April 18, 2006 at 11 a.m. Viewings will be at the Wheeler Mortuary, 211 East 200 South, Springville Monday, April 17, 2006 from 6-8 p.m. and one hour prior to services at the church. Interment will follow at the Ogden City Cemetery. The family expresses appreciation to the many loving friends and caregivers who have assisted Manita during her years of declining health including Hearthstone Manor, Hospice and her ward Relief Society. In lieu of flowers the family encourages donations to the Perpetual Education Fund of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Condolences may be sent to wheelermortuary@msn.com
