Marilyn Jones Ahluwalia 11/22/06 ~ 4/12/06 Marilyn Ahluwalia was a gift to us all. As a mother, friend, and teacher, she possessed a singular ability to share with everyone the love and wisdom within her. She was a woman of humble needs and gave all that she was able in every aspect of her life. She will be greatly missed, and no one can ever replace her. Only the warmth and beauty of her spirit will comfort us in her absence. Marilyn wrote the following biographical information before her passing: Marilyn attended Stetson University in Deland, Florida, where she received a B.A. in Elementary Education in 1971. She began a career in telemarketing in 1997, and she continued this career until the present, working primarily for Dr. Craig Campell's chiropractic center. Marilyn loved writing, reading, poetry, philosophy, music, cooking, and religious studies. Marilyn wished to share her poetry with the world: A Bird I sit and watch with envy The freedom of a bird No power nor principality Nor strife is ever heard. And the deepest woes of fledglings, As they triumphantly take wing, Is to match one glorious trilling note, When they lift their hearts to sing And oh, to soar to heaven's heights Above this labored sod, And leave my wants And hungering breast In the watchful care of God. Marilyn had a caring relationship with her Savior Jesus Christ. She was the loving mother of, Magan Kaur Ahluwalia and Ravinder Singh Ahluwalia, and is survived by both. She is also survived by brother, Bruce Dunning Jones; and sister, Julie Elizabeth Jones, both of Gainesville, Florida; and sister, Nancy Ellen Jones of West Palm Beach, Florida. Marilyn, in parting, wants all her loved ones to know that she is a "follower of Christ" and asks that the grace and peace of God be with you all. Marilyn died unexpectedly, but peacefully, in her sleep early Wednesday morning. A memorial service will be held in her honor Sunday, May 7th from 11:30-3:30 p.m. on the patio at Fresco Italian Caf? on 1513 S. 1500 E. in Salt Lake City. Please call (801) 568-3933 for a recorded message of details and directions.
