Ellen Marguerite Morris (Maurie) 1915 ~ 2006 Ellen Marguerite Morris, 90, died peacefully on Easter morning. Born June 8, 1915 in Sandy, Utah to Peter and Rachel Winquist, the youngest of 11 children. Her mother died when she was four, and her father died when she was 15, so she was cared for by her older sisters whom she loved dearly. She attended school in Sandy, worked as a fashion model at a store in Los Angeles, at the Naval Air Station in Seattle, and at the Belvedere Hotel in Salt Lake City. Married Clark Hyland, later divorced. Married Roy Morris, Feb. 3, 1942. He preceded her in death in March 1999. Maurie loved and was well loved by all who knew her. A member of the LDS Church with a strong belief in God. Preceded in death by 10 brothers and sisters, and a young son, Michael. Survivors include three nephews, Keith Christian (Joan), Robert Christian both of Holladay, Ronald Winquist, Tennessee, and two nieces, Nancy Krogh (Earl) Salt Lake; and Leilani Reeves, Scottsdale, AZ. Graveside services will be held Thursday April 20th, 2006 at 12:00 p.m. at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park, 3401 So. Highland Drive, Salt Lake City, Utah.
