Emily Galpin Johnson 1917 ~ 2006 A profoundly unique individual has left us. Emily Galpin Johnson, youngest child of Olive Priestley Galpin and Arthur John Galpin passed away Saturday afternoon, April 15th at the age of 88. She was born December 20th, 1917. Emily was a talented person who loved singing and dancing. She enjoyed hard work and helping her kids in their respective businesses. She graduated from West High School, lived through the Great Depression and bore her children during World War II. She takes with her the admiration, respect and love of many, including her two sons, Dennis and Ron. She also leaves behind her beloved daughter-in-law, Mary Gleed Johnson, grandson Spencer, granddaughter Denae (with husband, Shawn), her remaining loving sister, Hazel Jeffs, as well as lots of relatives from the Johnson, Galpin, Jeffs and Carman clans. To greet her arrival on the other side were her parents and her husband of 66 years, Lowell (who passed in 2002), as well as her treasured sister, Kate Carman. Her brothers Hubert and Arthur were there to welcome her, too, along with a gathering of countless friends, neighbors and work associates. We'll all miss her. She was one feisty, unforgettable character! Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 19th at 11a.m. at Memorial Estates 3115 East 7800 South. A viewing will be held there Tuesday evening between 6-8 p.m. and one hour before the service on Wednesday. Condolences may be sent to www.celebratinglife-ut.com.
