Anna Ruth Conger Quandt 1920 ~ 2006 Anna Ruth Conger Quandt passed away on Easter Sunday, April 16, 2006. The following tribute was written by her husband and four children. Anna Ruth was born on February 17, 1920, in Annis, Idaho, to William and Harriet Conger and the early years of her life were spent in Victor, Idaho. She shared with us many fond memories of her years in Teton Valley, Idaho, where her parents owned and operated the Hotel and Grocery Store. She attended Ricks College in Rexburg, Idaho, where she graduated with top honors with a degree in business and had a passion for music and dance. Ruth was married to Charles Orin McOmber in 1938 and moved to Pocatello, Idaho. Her dedication and love never faltered when it came to her children and grandchildren. This came with teaching, nurturing, encouragement and endless love. Her hands created and reflected her talents in her beautiful sewing, handwork, quilting and personal touch that she put in each of her porcelain dolls. They were the window to the beauty and love of her soul. She also resided in Montpelier, Idaho Falls, and Boise, Idaho. During her time in Boise she became involved and served as the Fund Raising Director for the Idaho Heart Association. She came to Salt Lake City a few years later where became involved in Real Estate and enjoyed a very successful career until the time of her retirement. In 1964 she met and married Eugene Quandt. He became her faithful companion and caregiver until the end. Anna Ruth leaves behind her husband, Eugene Quandt; two sisters, Shirley Stevens of Salt lake City and Harriet Riggan of Salmon, Idaho; four children, Judy Ingold of Jackson, Wyoming; Karen VanPatten, Kathryne Clark, and Michael McOmber of Salt lake City, Utah; 12 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. She is preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Gene Conger of Seattle, Washington and sister, Faye Kearsley of Sacramento, California. She will be greatly missed but will live in the hearts of all of us forever. The family would like to express their love and appreciation to the many caregivers of Garden Terrace, Silverado and to those at Wentworth of Willow Creek that have shown so much love and support to both Gene and Ruth in the past five months. In lieu of flowers the family has asked that a donation be made in her name to the Alzheimer's Association, 845 East 4800 South, Murray, Utah 84107. A viewing will be at the Holladay Cottonwood Mortuary, 4670 So. Highland Drive, Wednesday from 6-8 p.m.. with services the following day at 11:00 a.m. with viewing one hour prior to services. Entombment will follow at Resurrection Mausoleum at 4900 Memory Lane (1990 East) Holladay, Utah.
