NEW YORK (AP) — A 2-year-old boy out for an Easter Sunday ride with his family was shot and killed when a stray bullet pierced their minivan, police said.
The boy was struck about 2 p.m., when two groups of men began arguing in a Bronx neighborhood and one of the men pulled out a gun and started shooting, police said.
A bullet tore through the sliding door of the family's vehicle, striking David Pacheco Jr. in the chest. Witnesses said the boy was sitting in the back of the minivan with several other children, who were unharmed.
A man at the scene tried to revive the boy before a passing livery cab driver rushed him to a hospital.
