BIRMINGHAM (AP) — New UAB coach Mike Davis has filled out his coaching staff with three veteran assistants.
Davis has hired Kerry Rupp and Donnie Marsh from his staff at Indiana and former Mississippi assistant Tracy Dildy, UAB announced Friday. All three will have the title of assistant head coach.
"I'm excited to bring to UAB an outstanding staff that brings with them a lot of experience," Davis said. "Two of these coaches were on the bench with me at Indiana and are very familiar with me; the other is, I think, the best recruiter in the country."
Rupp spent the last two seasons as Davis' associate head coach at Indiana after leading Utah to the 2004 Mountain West Conference as the Utes' interim head coach.
Marsh also spent the last two years on Davis' staff at Indiana. He was head coach at Florida International from 2000-04.
Dildy has been an assistant coach at Auburn, DePaul, Ball State and his alma mater, Illinois-Chicago (1991-94).
