LEVI MELE, Uintah: Although the Utah high school wrestling season ended two months ago — where he captured his third state title — Mele just completed a run through the Senior Nationals in Pittsburgh, Pa., the most prestigious high school event in the country. He finished second in the 125-pound division to future Lehigh teammate Mike Grey, a four-time champion from New Jersey.

"Levi is an outstanding wrestler and even better person," said Uintah assistant wrestling coach Kevin Dickson. "He is obviously one of the great wrestlers in the state, but more than that, he is just a pleasure to be around."

Besides his accomplishments on the mat, Mele is a 3.9 student and a member of the National Honor Society.

CHELSEY BROWN, Timpanogos: This senior shortstop affects her team in more ways than statistics can track.

"I always tell her, 'As she plays, we play,' " said Timpanogos softball coach Frank Bramall. "She really has a personality that the other girls adhere to."

Brown has been leading the team offensively, batting .529 with two triples and two doubles and three RBI. The two-sport athlete and honor student will play basketball at Snow College next year. The third hitter in the line-up, Brown has helped the T-wolves stay unbeaten in region play and she's had key hits in their recent wins over Pleasant Grove and Spanish Fork.
