Albert Pujols had his second career three-run-homer game in St. Louis' 8-7 victory over Cincinnati on Sunday. Pujols hit a two-run shot in the fifth, a solo shot in the seventh and a walk off two-run homer in the ninth. With eight homers this year, Pujols is now tied for the major league lead with Detroit's Chris Shelton.

Detroit's Chris Shelton is the first AL player to hit eight homers in his team's first 12 games, according to historian David Vincent and the Elias Sports Bureau.
MINIMUM-SCORE CONTEST
Philadelphia beat Colorado 1-0 on Sunday. In 888 regular-season games at Coors Field, the only other 1-0 game was last July 9, when the Rockies beat San Diego. There have been four 2-0 games.

Before his blown save in Oakland's 5-3 loss to the White Sox on Sunday, Huston Street had converted 21 consecutive save chances since last July 10. ... Atlanta's Brian Giles ended San Diego's scoreless streak at 20 innings with a solo homer in the seventh inning of a 4-3 loss to the Padres on Sunday.
