The letter from Maria Luisa Torres (Readers' Forum, April 19) was well-written. I enjoyed her views on the influence of the Mexican people on our American culture. But the fact still remains: We Americans (and I, as a legal immigrant) are annoyed by the demand for all kinds of social benefits to which illegal aliens are not entitled. If people from Mexico want to become accepted and respected, they are going to have to follow the laws, like other prospective immigrants.
