Proponents of deporting illegal immigrants argue that they depress wages. Their armchair economic arguments are unfounded. The Economist Magazine (April 8) reports that illegal immigrants, at worst, make a very minor impact on wages. Meanwhile, consumers benefit from lower prices and expanded supplies of capital.
