Irene Lillian Hemingway Butcher 1912 ~ 2006 Our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, passed away peacefully at her home April 4, 2006, surrounded by loved ones. Irene was born August 5, 1912 to George Hemingway and Electa Eyrie Elliott, is Salt Lake City, Utah. Irene married Alvin DeLile Butcher, May 28, 1930. Irene loved to sing and dance especially at the 25th Ward, she could remember everything in her life and always told amazing stories. She never missed a thing with her witty remarks and her clever mind, to the day of her passing. Irene is a member of the LDS Church. Irene is survived by her children, Robert Wayne Butcher (Jan), Ronald Alvin Butcher (Cookie), Janice Darlene Kenney (Elden), Linda Kay Mast, William Dale Butcher (Barbara), JoAnn Gayle Shepard, Kathy Diane Bohlin, grandchildren, great-grand-children and her brother Vernon Hemingway and her sister-in-law Alta Nuzman. She was preceded in death by her son Don, husband, parents, sister and brothers, also Clyde E. Mast son-in-law and grandchild Justin Bohlin. Services will be Saturday, April 8, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at Memorial Mortuary, 5850 South 900 East, Murray, UT. Friends and family may visit on Friday, April 7, 2006 from 6-8 p.m. at Memorial Mortuary and from 10:00 to 10:45 prior to the service. Interment will be at Wasatch Lawn Cemetery, 3490 South Highland Dr, Salt Lake City. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.celebratinglife-ut.com.
