Marian Marie Cross (Ison) (VanQuill) Boekweg Beloved Mother Marian died April 5, 2006 in Sandy, Utah. She was born March 7, 1919 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Lew Wallace Cross and Irene Cecilia Gudmundson. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day-Saints. Marian was a Primary teacher and a Visiting Teacher. She worked for many years doing Genealogy name extractions and also crocheted several altar coverings for the Jordan River Temple. Marian and Carl worked several years in the Jordan River Temple Baptistry. Marian was an employee of Montek/E Systems for many years. She enjoyed the many friends she made while working there. She was a graduate of Granite High School and attended LDS Business College. Marian also enjoyed traveling to the church historical sites and on Mexican Riveria Cruises during her retirement - especially with her sweetheart Carl Boekweg. Marian was a loving wife to Carl; a loving mother to five children, Marian ValJean (Ron) Wright, Weston Owen (Elaine) Ison, LuDean Johanna (Bill) Brown, Claude Kimball VanQuill Jr., all of Sandy, Utah and Gaylen Keith (Pam) VanQuill of Pewaukee, Wisconsin. Marian was also a loving grandmother of 16 grandchildren and 44 great-grandchil dren. In addition, she was survived by five stepchildren, Ted Boekweg, Dave (Merilynn) Boekweg, Kent (Linda) Boekweg, Linda (Dennis) Alger, Arlene (Jim) Seger; one step-daughter-in-law, Marilyn; and many step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by sons, Gary Leon Ison, Lynn Leon VanQuill; stepson, Ron Boekweg; and sisters, Lois Frisbee, LaVerne Colledge; and her parents. Previously married to Lew Weston Ison and Claude Kimball VanQuill Sr. Married Carl Boekweg, May 19, 1984; later sealed for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. The family would like to thank the Highland Care Center and the Atria Assisted Living Center for the loving care of Marian. Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 8, 2006, at 11 a.m. at the Sagecrest Ward Chapel, 1280 Turquoise Way, Sandy, Utah. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, April 7th, at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 S. State St., and one hour prior to services at the church. Interment Redwood Memorial Estates. Her family respected and loved her dearly and she will be missed. Till we meet again, Mom.
