The final USA Today/WBCA Coaches' Poll for 2005-06 was released Thursday. The University of Utah was ranked No. 12, marking the highest final placement for a Ute women's basketball squad.

Utah finished its season 27-7 overall, winning the Mountain West Conference Tournament and advancing to the Elite Eight of the NCAA Women's Basketball Championship tournament. The No. 12 ranking also marks the highest finish for a Mountain West Conference team.

Utah's previous high-water mark for national rankings at the end of the season was in 2001, when the Utes were rated the No. 16 team in the country.
