TUCSON, Ariz. — The Salt Lake Bees picked up their second straight win Friday as they routed the Sidewinders 9-2.
Howie Kendrick snapped a 2-2 tie in the fifth inning with a run scoring-double and then the Bees broke the game open with a six-run eighth inning.
Dallas McPherson started the scoring with an RBI double, and four batters later, Tommy Murphy drilled a three-run homer.
Erick Aybar capped off the frame with a two-run double. Kendrick led the Bees with three hits and one RBI, while Murphy and Aybar each added two hits for Salt Lake.
Dustin Moseley (1-0) picked up the win, as he allowed just two runs on five hits in five innings with four strikeouts and two walks.
Kevin Gregg worked two scoreless innings out of the bullpen, while Jonathon Rouwenhorst and Greg Jones tossed one shutout inning each.
