DRAPER CLUB OPENS: Olympic gold medal diver Rachelle Kunkel will help launch the Draper Diving Club on Saturday at the Draper outdoor pool. Kunkel, a former BYU diver, will join coach Amy Lindquist and the Salt Lake County Parks and Recreation Department at the event beginning at 9:45 a.m. Registration begins at 10 a.m. followed by a diving exhibition at 10:15. Kunkel will sign autographs at 11 a.m. The pool opens for swimming at noon. The pool is located at 657 Vestry Road in Draper. For more information about the club, contact Lindquist at 319-7931 or the S.L. County Parks and Recreation Department.


4 UTAHNS ON TEAM: Four local rugby players will represent the United States in the Barclays Churchill Cup being played June 3, 7 and 10 in Santa Clara, Calif. The players are Mike Palefau of West Jordan, a player with Haggis rugby club, and three BYU players: Jeff Hullinger, Salesi Sika and Alipate Tuilevuka. The U.S. team is coached by Peter Thorburn, who assembled a squad of 28 players. The rugby finals will be played June 17 in Edmonton, Alberta.
