FRESNO, Calif. — With the game tied with two outs in the top of the ninth, Erick Aybar singled to drive in Jason Aspito and give the Salt Lake Bees a 7-6 win against the Fresno Grizzlies Monday night, ending a season-long four-game losing streak and a five-game road losing streak.
The Bees jumped out to an early lead on a first-inning RBI single by Dallas McPherson and a two-run homer by Reggie Willits in the second inning to give Salt Lake a 3-0 lead.
The Grizzlies responded by scoring two runs of their own in the second and four more in the fourth to take a 6-3 lead.
McPherson hit a two-run home run in the sixth followed by an RBI single from Aspito to even the score at 6-6.
The Bees bullpen stepped up with Matt Wilhite and Greg Jones allowing only two hits and combining to pitch four scoreless innings.
