Stephen Hinckley Durrant 1935 ~ 2006 Stephen Durrant passed away July 26, 2006 at South Valley Health Center in West Jordan after a lingering illness. Stephen was born July 18, 1935, the son of Clarence Henry and Evelyn Hinckley Durrant in Provo, Utah. Stephen was a survivor from birth, overcoming difficulties, which seemed insurmountable. His indomitable spirit pulled him through many trials; health and accidents which only gave him more incentive to pull his own weight and carry on with his life. Stephen's family moved from Provo, Utah in 1947 to the Kuna/Meridian, Idaho area where they operated the Big D Ranch. Stephen worked with his brothers on the ranch for many years after his parents' death. In 1984, the Big D Ranch Corporation was dissolved and the brothers all went separate ways. At this time Stephen, with his wife Claudia Hardy, moved to Taylorsville, Utah. Stephen and Claudia lived here for 25 years until their moved to West Jordan in 2004. Throughout Stephen's life he has always demonstrated a love for the gospel of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was always faithful in his assignments and enjoyed working in the temple until his health would no longer permit. Stephen is survived by his wife, Claudia Hardy Durrant; his brothers David and his wife Ann, Russell and his wife Marie, both of Meridian, Idaho; Joel and his wife Veleen of Filer, Idaho; his sisters Lorna Hansen of Fairborn, Ohio; and Carolyn Calkins of Lehi, Utah; and sister-in-law Nell Durrant of Taylorsville, Utah. Stephen had many nieces, nephews and cousins who will always remember him fondly. Stephen's parents, two sisters, and a brother, John, preceded him in death.
