Dennis T. McDonald 1947 ~ 2006 Our dear father, brother and son passed away July 25, 2006 due to medical complications. Born on April 14, 1947 to Thomas W. "Bill" and Lois McDonald in Salt Lake City, Utah, he was the oldest of three children. Dennis was married to Laurel Bethers McDonald from 1977-1995. Laurel preceded him in death on December 25, 2003. They had six children: Sarah Elmer (Benjamin), Samara Brinkman (Stephen), Sgt. Ian D. McDonald, MacKenzie "Z" McDonald (Lindsey), Tavis C. McDonald, Savannah McDonald (Darrell Baranowski) and their son Caden Cole Baranowski. Dennis is also survived by his three oldest daughters and their families: Mikell Sobol, Tangie Walker and Nora McCarthy; his sister Shauna Johnston, Colton, CA; and sister Jill Anderson (Bob), Holladay, Utah; and a dear friend, Leslie Thorstensen. Dennis served in the United States Marine Corps from 1966-1969 and fought in the Vietnam War. Among many accomplishments, he was awarded the Bronze Star Medal for "exhibiting uncommon courage and fierce determination". A graveside service will be held Saturday, July 29, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. at the Salt Lake City Cemetery (4th Ave. "N" Street, Southeast section) Friends may call from 6:30 - 7:30 p.m. Friday July 28, 2006 at Russon Brothers Mortuary 255 South 200 East, Salt Lake City.
