A missing-person case filed almost a week after an auto-pedestrian accident enabled police to identify the victim Wednesday.
Rachael J. Terry, 24, was hit by a car while crossing the street near 900 South and 700 East on July 18. She was not carrying identification at the time of the accident, and police did not know who she was until family members reported her missing Tuesday.
Police released Terry's photo to news media last week, in hopes that someone might know her. Those attempts were unsuccessful.

Relatives identified Terry at the University of Utah Hospital, where she remains in extremely critical condition and on life support, according to the Salt Lake City Police Department.
