An article on falling enrollment in colleges within the state was interesting (July 26). Potential solutions are many. Some would suggest that the cost of higher education in this nation is far too high. While getting a well-rounded education may be desirable, it is becoming clear that many corporations are finding it increasingly difficult to deal with graduates who are deep in theory but shallow in practicum and application.
My guess is that leadership needs to work with business more to bring about reform before the marketplace makes other plans.
